Biography

In 1994 Adam Green and Kimya Dawson met briefly at a coffee house in Bedford Hills, NY. 13 year old Green was singing his youthful songs of adolescent angst and 21 year old Dawson was reading some lame poems about having no friends. Needless to say no sparks flew.

Months later, Kimya was hired as the useless manager at a record store in Mt. Kisco, NY called 'Exile On Main Street'. Adam worked as the wipe down table boy at neighboring shop, 'pizza pizzazz'. being a big fan of the indie, adam spent countless hours mesmerized by Kimya's numerous tales of the boys she made out with from bands in Olympia, WA. Adam would try to impress Kimya with homemade cassettes of his blatantly nirvana influenced songs.

After awhile his stylings began to lean more in the direction of the vanilla ice/ mc hammer format and Kimya knew then that, with his boyish charm and her maternal instincts, they could really go places. and they did.
