Crawling from the wreckage of two earlier 4AD bands
(Rema-Rema and Mass), The Wolfgang Press's debut album is
experimental and downbeat much like those aforementioned
predecessors. Burden, when combined with their subsequent
EP Trilogy collected on Legendary Wolfgang Press and Other
Stories, does lay the groundwork for their more familiar funky
little demons and groovy dance tracks of the late 80s and early
90s.
