Devendra Banhart, musician and visual artist
Special guests
January 17, 2008
8:00 p.m.
Phyllis Wattis Theater
Since his first release of spare and often folk-based songs in 2002, Banhart has explored the intersections of rock, psychedelia, and traditional music. He is also a visual artist, creating new works on paper in conjunction with his fifth and most recent album, Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon (2007). The drawings are currently on view in Abstract Rhythms: Paul Klee and Devendra Banhart. Join the multitalented artist for a mostly acoustic performance celebrating the special relationship that often exists between music and visual art.
