Morning Benders Play All Ages Instore On Record Store Day
April 13th, 2010 by Mike VMThe xx session today at 6:00PM EDT / 5:00PM CDT on The Current
April 9th, 2010 by HectorMy guess is that there are a great many residents of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area who wish they could be at tonight’s sold out xx show. I suggest that you tune in to The Current at 89.3FM and listen to the session The xx recorded there earlier today. I also suggest that, if you’re out of the range of The Current’s signal, or if you just prefer your radio the way I prefer my coffee (online), you click here to listen on the Internet machine.
Holly Miranda live on KEXP today at 6:00PM EDT/3:00PM EDT
April 9th, 2010 by HectorXL just won’t leave KEXP alone today. Hopefully they’ve rested from today’s Jonsi session, because Holly Miranda will be rocking the Seattle airwaves live in their studio this afternoon at 6:00PM EDT/3:00PM PDT. Seattle-ites can listen at 90.3FM, and the online listener can browse to kexp.org.
Don’t forget that Holly will be playing live at High Dive later on tonight, and likewise don’t forget that her debut full length, The Magician’s Private Library, is available for purchase at our webstore.
Jonsi live at KEXP today at 3:00PM EDT / 12:00 noon PDT
April 9th, 2010 by HectorThis afternoon, Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi gives Seattle a preview of his two-night stand at the Showbox SoDo with a live session at KEXP. Fortunately, those of us not in Seattle can tune in online at kexp.org and share the love that’s coming in over the airwaves at 90.3FM in the Emerald City.
If you’re feeling like checking out the Jonsi live experience, tickets for the Seattle shows are still available. If you’re on the fence, I suggest checking out this tour sneak preview to get a gander of what you could be missing out on. And if you’re more about listening to music in the comfort of your own home, by all means take a trip to our webstore and pick up a copy of Jonsi’s new album, Go.

March 29th, 2010 by Mike VMThe Big Pink and Holy Fuck on Radio K this week
March 19th, 2010 by HectorHow good is Minneapolis’s Radio K? So good that they’re doing radio sessions this week from two different cities. In their hometown, they had The Big Pink drop by to play some songs, and the fruits of that session will be airing just a few hours from now at 10:00AM Central time. And in the land of beer, BBQ and suspicious textbook standards otherwise known as Austin, TX, they recorded a session with Chatroulette afficionados Holy Fuck. That session hits the airwaves tomorrow, March 20, at noon Central.
The Twin Cities can listen to Radio K at the following points on their FM dial: 104.5 FM (Minneapolis-St. Paul), 100.7 FM (St. Paul), 106.5 FM (Minneapolis) & 770 AM (Metro area). If you like your radio the same way I like my women (streaming), click here and be happy.
Efterklang to perform live session today on WNYC’s Soundcheck
March 3rd, 2010 by Jeremy G
The Danes are coming! The Danes are coming. Well, they’re here already. And to prove it, Danish wunderkinds Efterklang will perform a live session today on WNYC’s Soundcheck show ahead of their concert tonight at Le Poisson Rouge. The radio show begins at 2PM EST, with the band hitting the airwaves around 2:30PM. Check in out in NYC on 93.9FM or listen online.
Titus Andronicus kicks off a tour of FREE ALL-AGES instores
March 3rd, 2010 by Mike VMStarting this coming Monday, at a record store not far from their hometown, Titus Andronicus will begin the onslaught of 8 free all-ages instores that lead them down through the Midwest and straight into the heart of SXSW.

Taken By Trees live on KEXP today at 2PM PST
February 26th, 2010 by Jeremy G
If you can pull yourself away from the straight pummeling the US Hockey team is inflicting upon the poor Finnish, click your mouse over to KEXP’s website to check out a live session from Sweden’s Taken By Trees. Victoria Bergsman and her crew drove for days to reach Seattle in time for the session, braving the weather and, er, Montana truck stops to showcase their wares. The least you could do is tune in. As a reminder, if you’re in SeaTac, KEXP can be found on 90.3 on your FM tuner.
