How good is Minneapolis’s Radio K? So good that they’re doing radio sessions this week from two different cities. In their hometown, they had The Big Pink drop by to play some songs, and the fruits of that session will be airing just a few hours from now at 10:00AM Central time. And in the land of beer, BBQ and suspicious textbook standards otherwise known as Austin, TX, they recorded a session with Chatroulette afficionados Holy Fuck. That session hits the airwaves tomorrow, March 20, at noon Central.
The Twin Cities can listen to Radio K at the following points on their FM dial: 104.5 FM (Minneapolis-St. Paul), 100.7 FM (St. Paul), 106.5 FM (Minneapolis) & 770 AM (Metro area). If you like your radio the same way I like my women (streaming), click here and be happy.

The Danes are coming! The Danes are coming. Well, they’re here already. And to prove it, Danish wunderkinds Efterklang will perform a live session today on WNYC’s Soundcheck show ahead of their concert tonight at Le Poisson Rouge. The radio show begins at 2PM EST, with the band hitting the airwaves around 2:30PM. Check in out in NYC on 93.9FM or listen online.

If you can pull yourself away from the straight pummeling the US Hockey team is inflicting upon the poor Finnish, click your mouse over to KEXP’s website to check out a live session from Sweden’s Taken By Trees. Victoria Bergsman and her crew drove for days to reach Seattle in time for the session, braving the weather and, er, Montana truck stops to showcase their wares. The least you could do is tune in. As a reminder, if you’re in SeaTac, KEXP can be found on 90.3 on your FM tuner.

Also, I hate to sully this post by bringing up money, but Basia’s newest album, Heart Of My Own, is yours for the taking at several very reasonable price points if you visit our webstore.

KCRW’s fund drive has just finished, but that won’t stop Annie Clark from invading the studio for a Morning Becomes Eclectic session today at 11:15AM PST/2:15 EST. Tune in on 89.9FM (and the assorted repeater frequencies) in Southern California or online and listen to St. Vincent work through songs from Actor, with perhaps a surprise or two thrown in for good measure. And if you haven’t seen the stellar video for the new single “Laughing With A Mouth Of Blood” (starring Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein, as well as Annie herself), you should definitely click through on that, as it’s pretty much good times for all.

Starting this coming Monday, at a record store not far from their hometown, Titus Andronicus will begin the onslaught of 8 free all-ages instores that lead them down through the Midwest and straight into the heart of SXSW.
